Pigment Disclosure: We love using natural, non toxic and labor conscious pigments. Sometimes we use a synthetic, nature identical material if we can’t be clear on the source of the pigment OR if the lab made material is less toxic than what can be found in nature. For example, iron oxides found in nature can have much higher concentrations of heavy metals than what can be made safely in a lab! We always choose non-toxic first, and always go with natural if its an option! When sourcing natural Mica, we choose companies that mine from the US and/or countries who have partnered with Made in a Free World- this ensures fair labour practices. We do not use any micro plastics, whatsoever. This is a nuanced decision and we always choose non toxic and labour conscious materials first, of course choosing natural material if it aligns with our ethics policy.
